A few years ago when I became president of Blacksmith and Company, we were manufacturing and offering many type of colored gemstones, diamonds, and custom jewelry. Blacksmith and Company had truly become a "Jack of all trades but a master of none." Unfortunately, in today's competitive jewelry world, mens jewelry was severely overlooked in the market place. Blacksmith and Company needed to bring back the quality of gemstones and craftsmanship in metal work that defined the jewelers of "The Old World."
So I set forth to challenge my design house and manufacturing division to develop a semi-custom production mens line that would provide men with the quality, craftsmanship, metal weight, and innovative design everyman truly deserved. I only allowed for the most exclusive of precious metals to be used with a specialization in Palladium (Pd950) a member of the Platinum family. If gold was requested by one of our clients it would only be the best 950 highly reflective yellow gold (950kt) also known by the general public as 22kt. The gemstones and diamond would be hand picked from one of our many direct mine sources or my personal collection. The cutting of the rough gemstone material would be handled by our award winning lapidaries. This would be the only way to offer a client the option of custom tailoring any piece from our production line without utilizing our VIP Concierge Service. It is also my belief that luxury options should be available to all levels of the consumer market. To meet these distinct needs we carry four different levels of our mens jewelry in limited edition series starting with the Executive, the Renaissance, the Don Giovanni and finally offering as the exclusive distributor of the House of Gio (pronounced Jo`) designs signed and numbered line.

Although it was discovered in 1803, Palladium was not used in jewelry until 1939 when platinum was reserved for military use. This allowed Palladium to out shine Platinum, literally, as one of Palladiums many noble features is that its whiter than Platinum. Palladium is also hypoallergenic and lighter in weight than its metal group counterpart. This allows for a better finish and polish, and its lighter weight lends to larger, stronger designs and creations capable of holding the large carat, exotic gemstones that has become known as a trademark of Black Smith and Company.
